The Autonomous University of Madrid is located in the north of Madrid, and therefore, towns like Tres Cantos and Alcobendas – San Sebastián de los Reyes are well connected to the university via the Renfe Cercanias train (lines C4a and C4b). However, you should make sure that your accommodation is closed to the train station (see the location of the train stations here: Tres Cantos or Alcobendas – San  Sebastián de los Reyes). On this website, you can find useful information for traveling around Madrid by train, and on this map, you can check the train lines in Madrid (the train stop for the Autonomous University of Madrid is “Cantoblando Universidad”, on lines C4a and C4b).

Here are some recommendations for hotels or hostels that are well located in these cities. In any case, we encourage you to search on other platforms such as Airbnb or Booking:

On this website, you can find information about the most touristic neighbourhoods in Madrid in case you prefer to stay closer to the centre of Madrid during the celebration of the 5th World Ecouacoustics Congress. We recommend the districts of Chamartín, Sol-Gran Vía and Atocha, due to their proximity to different Renfe Cercanias stations which will take you directly to the Autonomous University of Madrid (see the location of the train stations here: Chamartin, Sol or Atocha). If you stay in any of the other districts in the city center, you will have to take the metro to connect to one of the Renfe Cercanias train stations that will take you to the Autonomous University of Madrid. In this website you can find useful tips and information about getting around Madrid by metro, as well as a Madrid Metro Map.
